Luke van der Belv, 05.04.1963, autodidatta, reputa suo Maestro Invisibile l’architetto/pittore brindisino, Pietro Oresta e suoi Maestri Segreti Dalì, Durer, El Greco e Rembrandt.
Conosciuti per caso gli Sketchcrawl Roma nel 2014, ha appeso il suo casco da motociclista al chiodo per indossare penne e matite aggiungendo ai Maestri anche Gérard Michel, Jeremy Soheylian e Paolo Bernacca.
Al coperto ha fatto delle incursioni nelle incisioni e sul campo predilige utilizzare penne a biro o le stilografiche perché per lui il disegno è alla base di tutto.
In questi brevi anni è passato dallo sketch fantastico “daliniano” al racconto più organico e realista, porgendo più attenzione alla storia o alla memoria dei luoghi.
Al debutto extra romana moenia qui a Ferrara 2018 non esistono ancora sue raccolte o pubblicazioni o un blog. Sogna di indossare nuovamente il casco portando con sé le matite.
Luke Van Der Belv, born on the 05.04.1963, is self-taught and considers the architect/painter Pietro Oresta his Invisible Master, while Dalì, Durer, El Greco and Rembrandt are his Secret Masters.
When he came across, by chance, the group Sketchcrawl in Rome in 2014, he hung up his helmet on a nail and wore pencils and pens instead.
He then added to his list of teachers Gérard Michel, Jeremy Soheylian and Paolo Bernacca.
He has experimented with engraving but now he prefers to use pens and fountain pens, because to him drawing is the base of everything.
In the past few years he has moved from a more surreal approach to drawing, seconding Dali’s style, to a more organic and realistic method, paying more attention to the history of places and their memory. At his debut, extra romana moenia, here in Ferrara, in 2018, there are not collections, publications or blogs yet.
Luke dreams of wearing again his helmet carrying his pencils with him.
