Romina Illuzzi è nata in provincia di Bari nel 1977.
Restauratrice di beni culturali, si è formata presso il prestigioso Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione e il Restauro di Roma. Negli anni dirige importanti cantieri di restauro, soprattutto a Venezia, rinunciando per oltre un decennio a “fare arte”, fino a quando decide di sfruttare i quotidiani viaggi in treno per disegnare. E non si ferma più, approdando negli ultimi anni all’acquerello come forma artistica elitaria.
Da sempre amante della pittura figurativa, i suoi temi preferiti sono il ritratto e gli “oggetti della natura”, che ama dipingere dal vero. Il carnet di viaggio, scoperto da pochi anni, è ormai diventato il suo strumento chiave per vivere quotidianità e viaggi.
La sua recente mostra “Through the face. Viaggio nel volto” a Padova, città in cui vive, ha incontrato un grande favore di pubblico, colpito dalla potenza comunicativa dei suoi ritratti. E anche in quest’occasione, un diario disegnato ha accolto i commenti dei visitatori.
Tiene regolarmente corsi di disegno, acquerello, ritratto e diario di viaggio.
Partecipa per la prima volta nel 2018 alla rassegna Matite in viaggio a Mestre.
Romina Illuzzi, born in the province of Bari in 1977.
Art conservator of cultural heritage, she trained at the prestigious Higher Institute for Conservation and Restoration in Rome. Over the years she directed important restoration projects, especially in Venice, giving up for over a decade her “art making”, until she decided to take advantage of daily train journeys to start drawing. And she hasn’t been able to stop since, achieving to master in the last few years the watercolour as an elitist form of art.
Always a lover of figurative painting, her favourite themes are “natural objects”, which she loves to paint from real life. The travel diary, discovered a few years ago, has now become her winning key to make the best of her everyday life and travels.
Her recent exhibition “Through the face. Viaggio nel Volto ” in Padua, the city where she lives, has met a great favour with the public, stunned by the communicative power of her portraits. And on this occasion, a booklet with personalised drawings was exposed for the visitors to write in their opinions
She regularly gives lessons in drawing, watercolour, portrait and travelogue.
She participated for the first time in 2018 at the event “Matite in Viaggio” in Mestre.
