Ms Ghislaine Feroux lives in Poitiers, France, where she attended courses at the School of Fine Arts. Her watercolour journals represent the perfect association of her two passions, painting and travelling. In 2007 she illustrated the book Albero, colours of Andalusia. Since then, she has made numerous other journals on Mayotte, Madagascar, Cuba, the Canary Islands, Burma and Italy. During her trips she finds great pleasure in getting immersed in these places and cultures, meeting their people and telling their stories. In her journals, painted in situ, she uses different techniques such as watercolour, collage, felt-tip pen, gouache and ink. She has been painting watercolours for many years and she prefers this method particularly for its spontaneity and transparency. Watercolour is perfect for seizing the moment and sharing the emotion and sense of discovery. Ms Feroux has trained as a bookbinder and makes her own journals from A to Z. The size of the journal, the type of paper and the front cover are indicative of each one of her trips and also an invitation to travel.
