RULES TO EXHIBIT YOUR WORKS

INTRODUCTION:

Like every year the Diari di Viaggio festival intends to endorse the art of narrating a journey through painting and writing.
The exhibition’s purpose is that of creating a wide perspective on the notebooks’ world in order to provide a panoramic view from the already known artists to the rising ones.

THEMES OF THE EXHIBITION

  • “GENERAL” THEME
  • The ”GENERAL” section is dedicated to travel’s notebooks
  • SPECIAL THEMES:
  • WILDERNDESS
    The “WILDERNESS” section is dedicated to those notebooks that will develop one or more of the following topics: flora, fauna, natural landscaping.
  • ARCHEOLOGY
    The “ARCHEOLOGY” section is dedicated to those notebooks created entirely or partially in museums or archeological sites.

HOW TO PARTECIPATE

The participation to the exhibition is completely free of charge and open to all adult artists of every sex and nationality.
The proposed works will be overviewed by a qualified jury external to the Autori Diari di Viaggio Association.
During the selection it will not only taken into consideration the technical skills, but also the originality of the topic and its developing methods.
In order to grant visibility to as many artists as possible, and particularly to the newcomers,the artists who previously exhibited their works during the 2018 edition will not be selected.
The judgment of the jury is undisputable and unquestionable.

The participation form will have to be sent only to the email address: adv@autoridiaridiviaggio.it before December 15th 2018, along with the following files:

  • Participation form (downloadable by clicking the button at the bottom of the page) duly filled in and signed.
  • Derogation (inserted in the participation form)
  • 2 Pictures of the author for our online catalog (HD quality – 300 dpi)
  • Short biography (max 800 characters spaces included – possibly in Italian and English).
  • Short introduction to the artist’s sketchbook (max 800 characters spaces included – please cross the corresponding theme in the participation form).
  • 10 Pictures of the sketchbook to be proposed (HD quality – 300 dpi)

The notebook shall concern one or more journeys.
Proposing single drawings with unrelated contents (single works) will not be accepted by the jury.
The images will have to be in jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
The drawings sent along with the participation form will have to be among those intended to be exhibited, otherwise they won’t be taken into consideration.

The works already exhibited in previous editions will not be considered.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

ATTENTION: for organizational reasons, the reception of the files after December 15th will cause the exclusion from the exhibition.

IMAGE OF THE POSTER

One image will be selected out of the received files to elaborate the poster.
Every usage of that image will be covered by the “Derogation” signed by the author which is included in the participation form.

NOTEBOOK TO BE SELECTED FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITION

The Autori Diari di Viaggio Association intends to show to the public some of the carnets that have been entirely created during the same journey.
In this sense, we will ask to the selected authors to be available to personally explain their journey with the support provided by their images.
To do so, every author will dispose of around 20 minutes.

DEROGATION

You will be asked to fill in the derogation concerning the authorization of the publication of artistic works, photos and images online.

HOSPITALITY

As a proof of our hospitality and in accordance with the available resources, ADV will offer to every Italian or international selected artist, the payment of 50% of the overnight stay at the partner facilities from the 10th to the 11th of May 2019.
We rely on you for the management of the rooms.
All partners are excluded from this contribution.
The hotel’s bookings will be managed by ADV and, at the moment, the hotel’s choice is still ongoing.

FRIENDLY DINNER

The dinner to be held on Saturday May 11th will be offered to all the selected artists.
All partners are excluded from this contribution.

BOOKSTORE SERVICE

Every artist participating to the festival will have the chance of selling his/her self-produced or published books, postcards, bookmarks, etc.

The sale will be managed by a company not related to ADV during the whole duration of the festival.
That company will receive 20% of the price decided by the author.
The delivery of the works will be possible from 10 am of Friday May 10th 2019.

Note:

All the selected artists will receive by email the delivery and pick-up terms of their works as well as the details related to the insurance, deadlines, overnight stay and everything else needed for the good outcome of the event.
